Presence, the First Step to Intimacy

Apollo 11 astronaut Neil Armstrong’s first words from the surface of the moon on July 20, 1969, “That’s one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.”

Are You Ready?

Join us on our journey

exploring the ins and outs of

intimacy.

We’ll take this journey a step at a time culminating in a leap forward in our ability to nurture intimacy in any relationship.

Presence is our first step. What defines presence? How do we identify when we are being present?

Of vital importance is our commitment to focusing our full attention on the other, being 100% with them – right here, right now in this moment. This is an ongoing recommitment moment by moment to maintain presence.

We detect presence by the feeling we are experiencing. Ester Hicks/Abraham explains that the human form has had an emotional guidance system installed which is a tool or navigational aid for determining our degree of alignment with Source or Presence. When we feel irritation, frustration, anger, resentment, contempt, fear, anxiety, grief, regret, sadness guilt, blame, shame, apathy or despair our attention has been drawn to a memory. We are misaligned with Presence.

We can use our awareness of this feeling as a warning signal to steer clear of danger, to change course, to realign with Presence by coming fully present in this moment. We become present by letting the memory go, releasing or transmuting the story we carry in our subconscious mind. Transmutation happens in an instant. When it doesn’t we can know that we are resisting change. We are wanting to stay our course or make only a slight correction in direction. This is more like moving or rearranging the furniture in a room, rather than moving house altogether.

Our alignment with Presence is felt as the flow of unconditional love, joy, awe or peace through our being. This flow moves through us and out towards those in our environment touching them with Presence. Our presence is felt as Presence, a power greater than our personal being.

Joe Vitale in his book “zero limits” has popularized the Self-Identity Ho’oponopono process of Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len. You can read Joe’s book or go directly to Dr. Len’s website at http://www.hooponoponotheamericas.org/whos-in-charge-english.htm to learn how we can clear the way for Divine Intelligence to move through us. Joe quotes Dr. Len’s teacher, Marrnah Nalamaku Simeona. “Ho’oponopono is a profound gift that allows one to develop a working relationship with the Divinity within and learn to ask that in each moment, our errors in thought, word, deed, or action be cleansed. The process is essentially about freedom, complete freedom from the past.”

When we are free of the stored memories, we naturally align with Presence and intimacy is appreciated in the flow of love.

St. Theresa’s Prayer

September 7, 2008 by Bunny and Jane

St. Theresa’s Prayer:

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities
that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.

It is there for each and every one of us.

September 4, 2008 by Bunny and Jane

HiVision makes the worlds cheapest Linux laptop at $98 using a new cheaper MIPS based processor, WiFi, 1GB flash storage, it runs Linux, has 3 USB ports, Ethernet, SDHC card reader, audio in and out, voice-chat, skype, multi-tabbed Firefox browser support and Abiword for word processing. Automatic and secure online software updates. Their current model is running a smooth and pretty snappy Linux user interface. In this video, I got to borrow a review sample of the laptop overnight, and I try to show you all the browser and other software interfaces in this extended video review of this cheap MIPS based laptop. Embedded is the way that I hope that most cheap laptops are going to be based on in the near future, Google will hopefully make a great Chrome browser for this kind of Laptop and hopefully that OLPC soon will announce that they will work to improve Embedded Linux based laptops in the upcoming XO-1.5 and XO-2 designs.

Oneness

September 2, 2008 by Bunny and Jane

Heaven is not a place nor a condition. It is merely an awareness of perfect oneness, and the knowledge that there is nothing else; nothing outside this oneness, and nothing else within.

I saw Home of the Brave tonight

I know this movie did not get great reviews but it did get to me. So devastating to see and feel all the seemingly needless suffering. I love the tagline “The Final Test of Courage is Coming Home”. I could take that to mean a lot of different things and maybe it is all the same thing. Coming Home to Love, to what is true for you, to following your heart does take courage when we are tempted to fall for the fuilt, the fear, the anger, the shame, whatever the test. Here’s to all of us Coming Home whatever the struggle is that surrounds us at this moment.
